New NFHS Volleyball Rule:
Rule 3-2-1: All panels of the ball shall be solid white or a maximum combination of three colors (with each panel being a solid color) and of which at least one-third of the panels shall be solid white.
Effective 2010-2011 school year teams will have the option to play with a color-paneled volleyball. The ball cannot have more than 3 colors & one-third of the ball must be white. Each panel must be a solid color. The volleyball (whether colored panels or all white) must have an NFHS Authenticating mark.
State associations may retain an all-white ball.State association/district/league may identify specific colors for all to use. State associations may allow schools, etc. to use any legal ball (white or multi-colored). The state association may choose to direct the post-season competitions to use a multi-colored ball at their direction. This is a viable option and increases a fairness issue by decreasing the potential of disagreement to which color ball will be used in post-season competition. State Association may allow for a single Ceremonial Match or Set with a pink or pink/white ball as part of a fundraiser.
