Check for excessive wear, loss of “tackiness” and de-lamination
Check for proper inflation
Ball rack:
Make sure wheels swivel to protect the gym floor
Floor:
Make sure the court lines are clearly marked
Make sure all volleyball sleeve covers are properly secured
Have floor cleaning and sweeping products available for use before practices and games to insure a clean
floor, free from dirt & dust, for player safety
Hydration:
Make sure all water bottles and drinking stations have been properly cleaned and sterilized
Make sure First Aid kit(s) are properly stocked
Have plenty of instant Ice packs available
Backboard:
Make sure edge padding covers all edges on the bottom or the board and the padding is not pulled away
from the backboard
Make sure there are no cracks in the backboard
Inspect all cables, pulleys and winches and connection points for retractable backboards (this should be
done by a trained individual (contact Anthem Sports if you need help with this inspection)
Make sure all appropriate moving parts are properly lubricated
Rim:
Replace bent or non compliant rims
Inspect all net attachments for broken pigtails or wire inserts
Lubricate breakaway goals as necessary
Insure proper tension on breakaway goals
Replace nets as necessary
Wall Padding:
Make sure all padding is properly secured to the wall
Replace or repair tears or high wear spots
Make sure there is sufficient padding underneath each backboard.This should be least 12’-20 ‘
long
Scoreboards:
Ensure that your system is functioning with visual display, controls and horn.
Coaching:
Insure you have adequate training aids (some of the most popular)
