BBCOR College and High School Bat Rule
The BBCOR (Batted Ball Coefficient of Restitution) bat rule requires all high school and college baseball bats to meet a .50 performance standard that restricts a bat's "trampoline effect", causing it to act similarly to wood. The .50 performance standard is the ratio of the ball's speed before and after impact, which cannot exceed .50 for use in high school and college play. In addition to the performance standard, BBCOR bats must have a -3 length-to-weight ratio (drop), a maximum 2-5/8 inch diameter, and be marked with a "BBCOR .50" stamp.
