MacGregor 15" Magnetic Baseball/Softball Breakaway Double First Base

The MacGregor breakaway baseball/softball double first base features a magnetic breakaway design that disengages from its anchor when hit with enough force from a slide. The double base design prevents player collisions with the white half of the base in fair territory for use by the first baseman while the orange half lies in foul territory to provide a safe path for the baserunner. The white base is equipped with a steel stanchion pan that attaches to the included magnetic anchor fixture and breaks free on heavy impact. The orange base features a low profile design for added runner safety. The double first base cover has a ribbed surface that keeps cleats from slipping on the bag, letting players round the base with confidence. The double first base design also makes it easier for umpires and coaches to identify when players make it safely to first base. The magnetic anchor stanchion fits in a standard 1-1/2" base anchor, and no stanchion or addition anchor is required for the orange runner's base.
