The Beacon adjustable weight nail drag with mat is a one-pass infield grooming solution that loosens the soil via 4" steel nails and then smoothens the surface via your choice of a steel floating drag mat or a cocoa floating drag mat. This infield drag mat system includes a set of 6 rubber field weights that are designed to fit atop the mounting posts on the nail drag frame to give you complete control to achieve the correct drag depth. The field weights weigh 7 lbs each and are equipped with built-in carry handles for easy mounting on the nail drag frame. Simply add or remove field weights to set the perfect nail depth for dragging your infield. The 6' wide drag system features multiple rows of 4" steel nails that are built to scarify the infield dirt for smoothing from the attached steel drag mat or cocoa drag mat. The steel drag mat is made with flexible 1" steel mesh with a 3’8″ thick galvanized steel ribbon that is perfect for breaking up soil chunks and providing a smooth playing surface. The cocoa drag mat is made with 1" thick natural cocoa fibers that virtually float across your infield without displacing much soil or topdressing for a professional look. It is recommended to drag in a cross-cutting pattern to keep the infield smooth and avoid an uneven surface that can develop by dragging in just one direction. Generally, using the nail drag to loosen a depth of 1/4" to 1/2" of dirt/soil is recommended.
