Champion 15" Breakaway Safety Double First Base & Anchor

The Champion breakaway safety double first base is designed to reduce the potential for injuries sustained through sliding. The set includes a 30"x15"x3" all-rubber double first base, a steel ground anchor, rubber base posts, and rubber base plugs. This baseball/softball double 1st base features a breakaway base safety system where the top base pad breaks away from the bottom plate upon impact, protecting players from leg injuries when sliding. The base pad is engineered to maintain vertical rigidity, supporting a player standing on the base. The base pad also maximizes horizontal flexibility so that the pad will flex on impact. The base plate features a streamlined design that is low to the ground to allow the player to smoothly slide over the plate. For added safety, the double 1st base design includes a regulation-size white base for fielders and a bright orange regulation-size outside base for baserunners to reduce player collisions.
